Mikayla Di Mauro
Mikayla started dancing at the age of 3, with more than 19 years of dance training behind her. She has been trained in and completed her Australian Teachers Of Dancing examinations in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop and has recently completed her Advanced examinations. Mikayla has had the opportunity to compete as a Performance Team member as well as be elected Troupe Captain for her team in 2014 and 2015. Mikayla also had a long solo career where she travelled interstate representing Team Victoria in the ATOD Scholarships. She has won both the Victorian Jazz and Tap Senior Scholarships overall receiving 6, first place state titles also winning multiple championships, aggregates and grand aggregates.
Mikayla's teaching career started in 2012, where she was mentored in many genres. Mikayla is currently studying a Bachelor of Teaching Primary at La Trobe University as well as obtaining her First Aid Certificate in 2019. She has successfully graduated from her Certificate II in Dance from the Northern College of the Arts and Technology, which focuses on the safe dance practice and strength and conditioning of dancers. She has also studied with the Australian Ballet School completing their Health and Well being Certificate where she learned how to support and encourage the growth of a healthy dancer and studio environment.
Mikayla is recognised as a certified Acrobatics teacher under the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, having gained her certificate to safely guide dances through their acrobatic examinations.
Throughout her dance career, Mikayla has performed in many shows such as Crown’s Christmas Spectacular, VFL Grand Final Luncheon, The Asian Cup, Melbourne City Mission and a guest performer at Dance Habit. She has also performed at venues such as Flemington Race Course, Crown Casino, and Melbourne Zoo.
In 2020 Mikayla hopes to continue to inspire each one of her students to perform and dance with love and passion. She also hopes to create strong and engaging choreography.
